Adoption Fees Raised

Effective immediately, our adoption fee is now $400, plus a refundable $50 when proof of spay/neuter is received by date in adoption contract. This will assist us with covering the actual costs of feeding, vetting, transporting, and all other related costs that we have for each dog that enters the SSR family.

We will spay/neuter all dogs that are eligible before they are adopted - large breed dogs are often recommended to wait till they are at least 1 year old before the procedure is done, as they are not done growing till then. PA state law, Article IX-A - Sterilization of Dogs and Cats 3 Pa. Stat. § 459-904-A, requires that any dog or cat not sterilized before adoption have the adopter provide a sterilization deposit.
